Meetups, merch, and gaming abound at Comic Con's VidFest UK!

They might not be the most traditional heroes and villains, but YouTubers are definitely the idols of the 21st century. To celebrate their extraordinary level of success, MCM London Comic Con spent this weekend showcasing YouTubers alongside iconic comic book characters and movie stars such Jesse Eisenberg, Aidan Turner and the cast of The Big Bang Theory. In return, YouTube fans helped MCM London reach their busiest traffic weekend EVER with over 133,000 turning up for the pop culture fest.

After adding Summer In The City to its roster earlier this year, MCM combined their signature YouTube event VidFest UK with SitC's team, for another weekend of YouTuber fun, merch, and meet-ups. This merging of convention Goliath's resulted in an online video zone, various eSports tournaments and plus their very own mini Fringe Festival. We're so happy to see the lines blurring between YouTube and mainstream pop culture, as creators plan some amazing and unique experiences for their fans!

Bringing together all things YouTube and Vine, highlights of this year's VidFest included a Q&A; with Dodie Clark, and a talk/video preview with TomSka. There was also a dedicated SitC stand, which had meet-ups and merch sales with creators such as Jack & Dean, Luke Cutforth  and BananaJamana. Even with its own massive event happening in August, SitC has come a long way from casual gatherings in Hyde Park!

Outside of VidFest, Meg Turney was also at Comic Con meeting and greeting fans. Meg currently presents RoosterTeeth's Entertainment channel (specialising in gaming and tech news), and came to London all the way from Austin to meet some of her fans - true commitment right there!

Gaming comedy legends YogsCast were also in town for Comic Con; with Lewis and Simon spending the entire weekend signing posters, meeting fans and playing games. They seemed to be having the best time - and all their fans were loving it!

Even if you missed out on all the Comic Con and VidFest fun, there's still some amazing photographic evidence. While all of our faves were hanging out at the event, photographer and YouTuber Rachel Kiki was busy taking some gorgeously candid photos, which you've probably seen being RT'd all over the place since this weekend.
