Caspar opens up

Following the ongoing controversy about the 2017 Zoella Xmas Calendar, fellow YouTuber Caspar Lee has opened up about YouTubers, money and the business behind the platform's biggest stars.

The video starts off by talking about how he made his first million, but then goes on to talk about how, if you are smart with your money, you can help others. You can do this by donating money, or by being a job creator. His main argument throughout the video is that YouTubers are job creators. For example, he talks about how a YouTuber making books creates jobs in book factories.

He touches on the calendar controversy

He acknowledges that there has been a, shall we say, mixed reaction to the £50 (now £25) Zoella Advent Calendar and says that people are allowed their own opinions on the issue.

On Zoe herself, he says that "she makes awesome things all the time" and adds that "she's an amazing human being who has been extremely lucky but who has also worked extremely hard."

"Yes, YouTubers are gonna change"

"Change is great", Caspar says. He argues that the common criticism that YouTubers have 'changed' is actually a good thing. He argues that wouldn't be where he is today, if he hadn't evolved his channel as he himself grew and changed. He ends the video by thanking his viewers for supporting him and also by requesting that people recognise that "YouTubers are human" and just as capable of making mistakes as anyone else.
