This is truly shocking.
Philip DeFranco is not only one of the most popular channels on YouTube, but he's one of the most informative and willing to use his voice to raise awareness for things that need to be changed. In his most recent video, titled "We Need To Talk About This", Philip discusses a YouTube channel that sees a mother and father prank their children in ways that can only be described as emotional (and often physical) child abuse.
The channel up for debate is called DaddyoFive, and it currently has nearly 800,000 subscribers at the time of writing. Their videos focus on seemingly innocent pranks (such as there being ink spilled on the carpet) but things quickly ramp up when children are given bloody noses after being thrown into bookshelves and are constantly being screaming at with explicit language and emotional manipulation.
Philip goes into a large amount of detail about the alleged child abuse in the video below, but viewing it is not for the light hearted.
He also discusses emotional tactics used by the parents to convince their children that what they are doing is appropriate, including "incentivising" them with "cool stuff" to get them to give the parents permission to upload the video. At one point, the kids are even saying (in a video response about "blocking out the haters") that they're lucky that the parents aren't "beating us like other parents".
A Reddit thread has even been set up to make it easier for people to report the channel for physical and emotional child abuse, which Philip DeFranco closing out his statement on the subject by saying that "if you treat a child like this, I hate you". If you want to look into this channel further, below we've embedded two videos that Philip unpicked the most.
This video, called "TABLET DESTRUCTION PRANK", sees the father push his son (Cody) into a bookcase in addition to shots of his siblings physically attacking him. [UPDATE: This video is now privatised as of April 19th 2017]
This is the families response to "all the haters", in which they discuss being investigated by Child Protection Services and feeling like all the haters are the ones causes the family drama.
Please let us know in the comments below what you think about this channel, and whether or not they're filming and uploading child abuse.
