We the Unicorns

Have we finally seen the back of the infamous pranker?

It's been nearly 3 months since Sam Pepper posted the video that would come to define his entire career - The Murder Prank. After becoming "famous" for groping women and pretending to actually shoot someone in the head to get a reaction out of a severely traumatised BFF, it appears that Sam Pepper has had enough of being one of the most hated people on the Internet. In the middle of the night on Sunday 21st of February (GMT), Sam seemingly cuts ties with all forms of social media and deleted his old YouTube videos.

At the time of writing, you could visit Sam's Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channel to find that all videos, images and tweets had been deleted in place of the simple message, "I Give Up". His profile pictures are all blacked out and his entire career has been reduced to empty profiles. Has Sam Pepper left the Internet for good?

Since the Murder Prank video was released, Sam was attacked by the digital activist group 'Anonymous', when they gave him 24 hours to delete his prank video or else they would start to reveal sensitive material about his address and personal phone number. These details never saw the light of day but instead of laying low and re-evaluating his presence within the big wide world of YouTube, Sam Pepper took it upon himself to challenge the world to donate $1.5 million into his bank account for him to delete his YouTube channel for good. Once more, this threat never happened - but appears he's now done it for free.

Whilst Twitter was ablaze with people posting celebratory GIFs and acting as if world peace has been restored, it's certainly a concern that a young man who was able to be attacked 24/7 just upped and left a world and career he had created for himself. The 26-year-old had faced attacks in the past for sexual deviance and was even faces charges from previous assaults, so what had officially tipped him over the edge this time around? No explanation or comment has come from Sam's side of the camp, in fact, no one really knows where he is or how he's doing. But with the final statement "I Give Up", instead of celebrating there should be a cause for concern about his well-being.
