Simone Giertz tells viewers "my brain tumour is back"

"It just feels like a bad movie sequel"
Simone Giertz has revealed that her battle with a brain tumour (which she nicknamed 'Brian') has sadly not yet ended.
The YouTuber and ingenious inventor went through a very public surgery to deal with a brain tumour back on 2018, and at the time, the problem seemed to have been pretty much dealt with. But now, she has opened up to her viewers that, sadly, the journey is not yet over.
"When I had brain surgery in May", she says, "they removed big portions of my brain tumour, but something I still haven't talked about is that there's still parts of it left." This was something she did not disclose to viewers at the time.
She clarifies: "I don't have cancer, I just have a tumour."
There was always a suggestion that this remaining mass would have to be dealt with 'down the line' but, she says: “The ‘line’ in ‘down the line’ was a little bit shorter than I had anticipated.”
Now she will have to undergo radiation therapy to deal with the remaining parts of the tumour, though thankfully she will not have to undergo surgery again.
She says that radiation therapy has a 90% success rate. However, there are also possible risks and side effects, including: loss of hearing and hair, loss of sight and even dementia.
Simone does not hide her sadness and frustration at this turn of events, but still displays her famous positive, defiant spirit, saying: "If I'm not around, it's not because I don't want to be, it's because I can't"... " I don’t want to be brain tumor girl. I don’t want this to be my thing. I want to be bad-ass builder girl who can build whatever she wants and does random projects and goes to space.”
Creators and fans have backed Simone all the way
