Put down your phone and pick up a mirror!
Put down your contouring kit and throw out your Kylie Jenner lip-plumping shot glass - we have a brand new YouTube beauty trend that you're seriously going to want to try out. From your phone screen straight to your actual face, it's about time you turned yourself into real life Snapchat filters and served up a whole new makeup game. You'll certainly get people looking in your direction...
Over the past few years, Snapchat has gone from some obscure social media app that people had but never really understood into the digital OVERLORD that dominates all of our time and energy. We couldn't stop snapping our days and adventures to all our envious friends, but when they integrated filters to their app mid-2015 it was game over. Sorry productivity, Snapchat is in town and we're totally over doing anything else if it doesn't involve wrecking our face on camera.
When there's a new social media trend, we can always have a cheeky look on YouTube and expect to see how the digital community are reacting to the excitement. It's taken a little while to kick off, but we now officially have our favourite YouTube beauty trend of 2016 - make-up recreations of Snapchat filters. From MadeYewLook, Jordan Hanz and RCLBeauty101, every big time beauty YouTuber is jumping in front of their cameras and painting the filters onto their faces with shocking accuracy.
We'll be totally honest, the "Hanging Eye" tutorial below is pretty terrifying and it takes a seriously scary level of commitment and skill to recreate something that like on your face by yourself. But if you're creative and bored enough, we would LOVE to see what happens if you readers tried these out yourself. Honestly, it would make our day.
