Snapchat Spectacles Might Finally Go Mainstream Soon For This Reason

Will we be seeing them in stores soon?
Since we recently saw some of our favourite YouTubers trying them out, we've been lusting after a pair of Snapchat Spectacles. But up til now, we've been struggling to figure out how to get our hands on a pair. The specs, which launched last September, can record and share trippy 10-second Snapchat videos from your POV; and until now, have only been sold from mysterious vending machines (called Snapbots) at around $130 a pop.
But it might be easier to get our hands on Snapchat Spectacles soon.
This week, Snap Inc. publicly filed for an IPO (meaning the company's stock will appear on a public stock exchange); and part of their filing includes the plan to "significantly broaden the distribution of Spectacles". What's more, there could be some potential to give the Bluetooth-connected specs some upgrades; possibly including some augmented reality features.
There's no denying that Snap Inc's marketing for Snapchat Spectacles has been effective; but hopefully they'll become mainstream sooner rather than later!
