Shane Dawson and friends parody YouTube culture in this fantastically shady new movie
Shane Dawson has just dropped some massive news. He's taking YouTube to the next level with a new film called 'Internet Famous' in which he plays a parody version of himself as part of a mockumentary about YouTube culture. The film looks set to lampoon all of the most cringe-worthy aspects of YouTube - like pranksters doing horrible thing in the name of 'comedy' and women using their, ahem, assets (and little else) to get tons of views.
Directed by his friend Michael Gallagher, the film follows 5 types of YouTubers; The Prankster, The Parody artist (played by Shane), The One Hit, The Film Maker and The Comedienne. In the film, all these YouTubers compete in a talent show where the winner will win their very own TV series. If you want to see Shane with a fake tan, douchebag outfits and added attitude then this film is for you. It's the kind of loving yet biting parody that Shane has been the king of in recent months. Here's the trailer:
This quirky mockumentry also stars Internet personas Richard Ryan, Steve Green who already have YouTube fame and Vine sensations Christian DelGrosso and Amanda Cerny. They are all in very good company with John Michael Higgins who you will recognise from Pitch Perfect and a whole host of other actors. The films follows Shane's recent hilarious musical parody of Internet culture. 'Internet Famous' will be out on iTunes on June 21st and is available for pre order now.
