The website was not available in the UK. This follows an earlier warning that a Russian 'cyber attack' would take place today.
Twitter went down in the UK earlier today. Multiple users received an error message when they tried to access the social media site. Outages like this are usually quickly remedied and the site was soon back online.
This event follows a government warning that came earlier today, which warned of an imminent Russian cyberattack on 'national infrastructure, private-sector organisations and internet service providers."
This timing will lead many to speculate about what may have caused Twitter to go down.
