We the Unicorns

This HAD to be the greatest season yet!

Over the last 12 weeks, we've seen one of the most exciting and intense series of The Amazing Race of all time. With every single team having at least ONE Internet celebrity, obviously we've been watching every second and routing for #TeamInternet along the way. However, there's one team we've clearly been rooting for the most and it's our misfortune to say that whilst #TeamTylerAndKorey put up a FANTASTIC fight, the Race Winners for 2016 were Matt and Dana!

From dancing traditional Georgian dance routines, to racing camels and even swimming with sharks the dynamic duo have absolutely nailed the 28th season of The Amazing Race and regardless of what happened in the final, Tyler and Korey were always the winners in our eyes. I mean, #TeamTylerAndKorey have successfully trended on Twitter during every single episode and they were even pegged to be the surefire favourite for the trophy... who else can say they did that?! Also, it was totally that taxi's fault, amirite...

From the beginning, the pair were pegged to be the second gay team to win the $1 million prize since married couple Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge won two years ago. But they had strong competition from the beginning with the other finalist teams professional dancers Matt and Dana, plus Viner Cole and his mom Sheri. The pair may have come first in the last three episode running up to the finale, but lets not forget about THAT episode in which Tyler caused controversy by potentially breaking a rule and helping Scott put oil in his car!

Before the finale, Tyler uploaded a Q&A; vlog to his channel answering questions about the time he spent on The Amazing Race with Korey. In regards to the fact that EVERY team had to be totally disconnected from the Internet for months on end, Tyler said, "If there's a lesson I can pass on as we approach generations that are more dependent on technology, I feel like I wish my kids freedom to unplug". The only question to ask now is what Tyler and Korey would have done with the prize fund... more donations for The Trevor Project perhaps?

If you want even more Amazing Race content, Tyler also uploaded his and Korey's audition tape to get onto the show that they filmed like a YEAR ago - check it out and see how freaking adorable they are! No wonder they made it onto our TV screens and wowed the entire population of America. Well done guys! Maybe see you again for All Stars?!
