We're so pumped for this!
If you're a fan of vampires, vlogging and Liam Dryden, then boy do we have some good news for you. Teaming up with Doctor Who writer James Moran, a bunch of YouTubers will be bringing Bram Stoker's classic 1897 vampire novel Dracula to life through a modern perspective - vlogging and social media!
The new web series, called Mina Murray's Journal, will be hitting YouTube in September 2016 and will follow a young woman through her life as she discovers that working life and being an adult is way scarier than she thought it would be - that is, until she uncovers an ancient evil that puts her whole life in danger.
The show will be starring various YouTubers, actors and comedians such as Matt Hargreaves, Rosie Holt, Kate Soulsby and our favourite (totally non-bias) Unicorn, Liam Dryden. What makes the whole production even more compelling is the fact that it will be "the first British V-LIT (vlog literary) series", meaning that YouTubers will be carrying the torch for innovative digital entertainment once more!
James Moran was able to confirm even more details about Mina Murray's Journal and her vampire adventures in a press release; “Season one will be online in September, with fifteen episodes including a live stream and a finale. And because this is modernised, vlog adaption, you may *think* you know the story, but we’ve got plenty of surprises along the way. This is the first British V-LIT series, so i am immensely proud to be adapting such an iconic British novel”.
