For real this time
It looks like Vine is finally making a return. The service was tragically shut down in January 2017, due to small issues like not ever making any goddamn money and having literally the worst-designed website in human history, but now it seems set to make a grand comeback.
i'm going to work on a follow-up to vine. i've been feeling it myself for some time and have seen a lot of tweets, dms, etc.— dom hofmann (@dhof) November 30, 2017
That's one of the original creators of Vine, Dom Hofman. As you can see, he's looking to revive the once-great video platform. He even has a name and logo for it:
He's even worked out the logistics
Vine, as you probably know, was purchased by Twitter back in the day. It was then later shut down by Twitter, mainly because they couldn't find a way to make it profitable. Seeing as Twitter itself is barely profitable, this didn't come as amuch of a surprise - *GIF of Kermit sipping tea*. The whole 'Twitter owning Vine' element will also be why this is called 'V2' instead of 'Vine 2', because Twitter will own the term 'Vine'.
i'm funding it myself as an outside project, so it doesn't interfere with the (quite exciting) work we're doing at the company, which is my first priority— dom hofmann (@dhof) November 30, 2017
