'Vlogumentrary' is a behind the scenes look at the life of our YouTube faves
'Vlogumentary' was announced aaaalll the way back in 2013. For those of you keeping count, that's three whole years ago - which is an enormous amount of time in the modern world and even longer on the fast-paced world of the internet. YouTuber Shay Carl started the project under the initial title 'I'm Vlogging here'. He aimed to raise the budget through crowd-funding but when he couldn't quite raise enough $$$ he turned to Morgan Spurlock for help. You may know Spurlock as the award-winning creator and star of the documentary 'Super Size Me' in which he expertly found an excuse to do what we've all dreamed about - eating McDonalds for every meal every day.
Carl and Spurlock have finally put together a final cut of the film, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday. The creators say the film will “delve into what vlogging is, the rise of YouTube creators, and how vlogging has changed the lives of the vloggers, the viewers, and the industry itself.” This will be a great relief for fans, who have been been receiving a slow drip-feed of information about the project for some time. The teaser trailer was released three years ago and the official twitter account hasn't said a peep since 2015.
But Who Is In It?
Ah, the all-important question. Well, let's dive in to the 'cast' shall we. According to the official IMDB page for the film, this is the confirmed cast:
So that at least answers the question of 'will the Chocolate Rain guy be appearing in this film?'. We're sure there will be even more YouTubers in this final of the film due to its long production. We can find out for sure when The documentary is released later this year.
