Everything You Need To Know About YouTube Red's Rumoured UK Launch

This could be VERY exciting!
Since its launch, YouTube Red has divided people across the globe. Whilst we're thankful for incredible new content made with high production standards and big budgets, there are people who just can't get over the fact you have to pay to watch YouTube. And, in all honesty, we can see their point. However, we can't deny the incredible work coming out of the platform such as Scare PewDiePie, A Trip To Unicorn Island by Lilly Singh and Jingle Ballin' by Liza Koshy- and we want in.
If you didn't know, YouTubeRed isn't available in the UK yet. The paid-for service is only currently available in the United States, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. However, the UK looks set to be next with Google in talks to bring the service here in 2017 at a price of Ł9.99.
Sadly, it's not quite as simple as it sounds. Google need to sign deals with music labels to make it happen and that could be pretty tricky. If you missed the drama in 2016, YouTube and certain music labels certainly didn't see eye to eye with the labels being unhappy at the revenue share they were entitled to from their videos. YouTube, on the other hand, did little to bargain with the labels and so the disagreements go on. We could be in a long wait.
However, we're hopeful this will finally be the year we get to sign up for YouTube Red. With the likes of Gigi Gorgeous and Brent Rivera set to make exclusives for YouTube Red, we'll be keeping everything crossed.
