Chrissy Chambers has made English legal history

YouTuber Chrissy Chambers has made British legal history by winning unprecedented damages against her former partner, who posted explicit material featuring her online, as 'revenge porn'.

Chrissy is American and has video that have been viewed hundreds of millions of times. She is one of the most popular lesbian creators on YouTube and her channel BriaAndChrissy has over 750,000 subscribers.

Chrissy was dismayed to find that the Crown Prosecution Service (the service that brings charges against criminals in England and Wales) would not bring criminal charges against her former partner and so brought she a civil case against him - the first of its kind in English legal history. 'Revenge porn' is a serious issue, but one that had not yet been properly dealt with by the courts.

Chambers sued him for harassment, breach of confidence and misuse of private information - and she won. The terms of the settlement mean the former partner cannot be named, nor can the amount of damages paid to Chambers be revealed - however her lawyer say the sum is substantial.

Things then took a sweet turn

Chrissy celebrated her victory by proposing to her partner Bria Kam on the steps of the High Court. Bria called Chrissy “the bravest, most incredible human being that I’ve ever met”.
