"I'm sorry if I have offended anyone"
It's been a tough week for Zoe Sugg. Following the backlash against her £50 Xmas calendar (which has now had its price reduced by Boots), some of her old tweets have been unearthed, which are causing their own drama. The tweets, which Zoe has now deleted, included a number of offensive phrases.
Zoe then responded to the old tweets
I’ve seen a few of my old tweets from 7/8 years ago floating around (which I have now deleted) using words like “chav” “skank” and other words I wouldn’t use now as part of my language and lot of them were taken out of context referring to TV shows but I would never say those— Zoella (@Zoella) November 15, 2017
things now and I’m sorry if I have offended anyone, that was not my intention. Obviously that is not who I am today and I’d like to think I’m a little older and wiser! I’m not perfect and I’ve never claimed to be, I’m only human!— Zoella (@Zoella) November 15, 2017
She has seen a swell of support
Why are people getting old tweets from zoella from 7/8/9 years ago!!!! U PEOPLE ARE SO PETTY! I write some stupid shit sometimes then think ‘I didn’t mean that’ or ‘I said it cause I was angry’— Havva (@havvarebke) November 14, 2017
I'm sorry but digging up tweets from zoella when she was 19/20 is stupid, don't act like you haven't once made a horrible comment about someone when you was younger & immature, tired of this trend where people are slamming Zoe into the ground 🙄— Holly Jolly Hayley🎄 (@hayleylsunter) November 14, 2017
listen, zoella's calendar is overpriced af but why the hell are we pulling up her tweets from 5+ yrs ago. let's take a look through all y'alls timelines 🤔— ˗ˏˋ katy belle ˎˊ˗ (@katybellemairs) November 14, 2017
