Happy Birthday Ollie!
So it's been a while since we've seen the internet get together for a random act of kindness; but this one plea from the dad of a boy being bullied at school has touched the hearts of some big names - including some of our YouTube favourites.
Christopher Hope-Smith posted a Tweet thread yesterday looking for help.
His son Ollie, turning 9 next week, has been dealing with a bully at school; who has apparently been making him feel worthless by comparing everything they have or do.
"The bully keeps saying to him that everything O has, he has bigger/better/more often," explains Christopher. "O excited for his birthday but keeps being told it won't be as good as his own."
So Christopher has been reaching out to the Twitterverse, hoping that his pleas for some birthday wishes will reach some influential figures; and in just over a day, has probably had far much more of a response than he bargained for.
The response from Twitter users and celebrities has been staggering.
Actor Russell Crowe, grime legend Stormzy and the England football team are just a few of the thousands of accounts sending their best wishes. Ollie has even been invited to watch England play next season.
Hey Ollie, heard it was your birthday. 9 years old eh? Congratulations, Happy Birthday !!— Russell Crowe (@russellcrowe) June 29, 2017

Happy birthday Ollie! You're a lil legend. ❤️⭐️Don't watch the bullies they always end up being the biggest wastemen later in life— #GSAP (@Stormzy1) June 29, 2017
Even some YouTubers have gotten in on the action.

Zoe and Alfie also filmed a quick video together, where Alfie shared some words of encouragement about what it means to be bullied.

Since tweeting, Ollie's family have been overwhelmed by the response.
"I am completely overwhelmed by everyones kind thoughts," Tweets Ollie's mum. "You do not know what this means to me and will to Ollie when we show him."
"It is heartbreaking listening to an 8 year old think that he is worthless and 'shouldn't be here'."
So from all of us at We The Unicorns, Happy Birthday Ollie!
