Dan has thanked his fans on Twitter for "making the world a better place".

Dan Howell celebrated his birthday yesterday and fans did something a little unusual in support of the beginning of his 28th year on the earth.

Through Phandon Gives - a group of Dan and Phil fans who aim to “do more good in the world” - fans initially aimed to raise £2800 in support of charity Young Minds, which helps young people get mental health support. Dan has been an ambassador for Young Minds since 2017 and has previously gotten involved in raising money for mental health issues, fundraising over £28,000 through sales of his ‘Courage To Exist’ merchandise.

They’ve since surpassed their original target with the current total raised standing at over £3200 and Dan has offered his thanks, writing on Twitter: “thank you for making the world a better place in my name i appreciate it”.

The fundraiser is still open - you can donate here.

He also posted thanks for all his birthday wishes this year, writing: “thank you sincerely to everyone forcing me to confront my mortality on this day celebrating another orbit of our sun that i have remained alive for”.

Dan has been pretty quiet on the content creating front this year, but he recently announced he's been confirmed as a Featured Creator at VidCon US and teased that new videos could be on the way soon.
