“I literally peaked age five"
Daniel Howell has posted some photos of himself as a child and they’re pretty cute.
Posting the photos to his social media, Dan shared the photos as part of a new trend on social media called the #5YearOldSelfie challenge, where people are sharing photos of their five-year-old self and the advice they would share with their younger selves.
Dan posted three photos for the challenge - one of himself alone and the other two with family members - writing: “I literally peaked age five… Cute, poised, sassy, infectious happiness, big imagination and an open heart.”

i literally peaked age five ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ∙ cute, poised, sassy ∙ infectious happiness ∙ big imagination and an open heart ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ..or did i? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ find a photo of yourself when you were five years old, what would you say about them? try and list three positive things. now remember, this child is you - you deserve the same kindness. this is ‘inner-child visualisation’ and it’s a good reminder that how we talk about ourselves affects who we believe we are. when we feel good about ourselves it’s easier to deal with life’s challenges! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ post a photo of your younger self on your grid or story and the three positive things you’d say to share this message with #5YearOldSelfie @youngmindsuk
yeah! you would treat your younger self with so much patience and kindness but when you are older it's very easy to be negative about yourself, important to remember.— Daniel Howell (@danielhowell) August 8, 2019

Fans have also been sharing their own photos of themselves as five-year-olds - as well as offering their own words of encouragement for themselves and Dan.
“I think you’ve peaked today. You’ve done 2 world tours, have millions of followers, have written 2 books, and are a mental health ambassador,” one wrote. “Not to mention the positive influence you’ve had on all of our lives.”
Another said: “baby dan would be so proud of the kind of person you have become, dan. also, you are still everything you have mentioned…”
We’re not crying, you’re crying.
