Jackie Aina has become the first ever recipient of the NAACP Image Awards' YouTuber of The Year award.

The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People) is an American organisation that works towards improving the lives and opportunities of black Americans and Americans of colour. Their annual Image Awards honour outstanding contributions in art, music, literature, television and entertainment - and this year, for the first time ever, they honoured YouTube talent with a brand new award category.

The YouTuber of the Year award was created in partnership with Google.

Jackie is one of YouTube's most respected beauty YouTubers. Her years of professional experience as a makeup artist, combined with her commitment to promoting diversity and calling out racism in the beauty industry, have earned her over 1.8 million YouTube subscribers, as well as hundreds of thousands of fans on Instagram and Twitter.

Jackie accepted the honour at the 49th NAACP Image Awards on Sunday January 14th.
