Jake Paul has confirmed that he has split with his girlfriend Erika Costell (Nov 7).
In a statement released on his Twitter, Jake wrote that "Sadly, Erika and I broke up a while ago and since then, we have been doing our best to work it out and find a solution."
"After many discussions and some serious soul searching, it became apparent to us weeks ago, that we could no longer be boyfriend & girlfriend. While is was a truly heartbreaking decision, it is the healthiest decision, it is the healthiest thing for both of us."
The news first broke via YouTube gossip channel Keemstar, who asked for a statement from Erika on the rumours of a split. According to Keemstar, she replied saying: ‘I’ve been through so much the past month with this… I don’t care what the internet thinks about me, I just want to move on and get through this shit privately.’
In Jake's statement, he speaks positively about his relationship with Erika.
"Erika is such a beautiful soul and she truly changed by life. She is a powerful, smart and independent woman, who has such a bright future ahead of her and has helped me become a better person on multiple levels. The times we had together are irreplaceable and I will be forever grateful that she was part of my life."
Jake and Erika's relationship was featured heavily in Shane Dawson's documentary on Jake Paul. Shane made several comments in his epic 8-part documentary which referred to the positive influence that Erika had in Jake's life. In fact, "Jerika" became a popular ship.
Sadly, it looks like this ship has sunk for good.
