Jake was hospitalised after a serious boxing injury

Jake Paul has sustained an injury which some are saying may be the end of his boxing career.

The controversial YouTuber and boxer injured his arm while sparring with fellow creator Joe Weller, and initially thought it was a minor issue, but then things took a turn for the worse. Jake and Joe fought at the end of March 2019, and you can watch the full thing below.

Now, in a new video titled 'my boxing career is over..', Jake says this hand injury may prevent him from ever entering the boxing ring again. Jake's hand was hurting after the bout and so he went to the doctor.

Jake's hand was initially put into a cast and he was told there was no fracture or anything series. But in Jake's own words: "NO! That is not what happened! I woke up the next day, I'm in more pain than ever, I can't move, I have a fever, I'm stuck in bed... I felt like I was dying." Jake says he had swelling all over his hand, the size of a "softball".

"I started to panic", he says, "it wasn't cool anymore, it wasn't fun anymore."

In the video, his mother suspects the issue is an abscessed infection due to cellulitis, a condition that can be extremely serious and even fatal - but Jake says he was never given a definitive answer about what was wrong."

Jake then underwent surgery for four hours and surgery in which it was discovered he had a sprain in his arm as well as the abscess.

All that is known for certain is that Jake will not be able to do any boxing for a minimum of three months, leaving his fighting career in question.
