James Charles went to the Met Gala and people are sister salty

James Charles was among the social stars that rubbed elbows with the rich and famous at this year's Met Gala and it's safe to say that many people online are pretty damn sister salty about it.

The Gala, which this year had the theme 'Camp: Notes on Fashion', featured all kinds of big names from the world of fashion and entertainment attempting to wow the crowds, and the press, with their outlandish fashion choices. But sadly when it came to our YouTube heroes, it seemed the internet was more interested in whipping up memes than assessing clothing styles.

This is what James Charles wore to the Met Gala.

And this is what people had to say about it.

James seemed unaware of any hate, posting an Insta pic with the caption:

"my first met gala 🥺 thank you so much @youtube for inviting me and @alexanderwangny for dressing me! 💕 being invited to such an important event like the ball is such an honor and a step forward in the right direction for influencer representation in the media and I am so excited to be a catalyst. video coming tomorrow!"

Whew gang, why don't you tell us how you really feel?

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter how salty people feel - James got invited to the Gala fair and square, and that's pretty damn impressive for a 19 year old.

Part of the anger may have stemmed from the recent controversy surrounding the high prices of James' tour tickets - with some tickets costing as much as $500 - but also, this is the internet, so a lot of it was probably just people being mean for the hell of it.
