The James Charles backlash continues

James Charles' apology video to Tati Westbrook has become the most disliked apology video in YouTube history.

The video, just called 'tati', was uploaded on May 10th, and is a response to a scathing video from James' former friend and mentor Tati, who attacked him for promoting a rival companies health product. This started an avalanche of criticism against Charles from all corners of the internet, which has seen him shedding millions of subscribers over the course of the week.

At the time of writing, the video currently sits on a ratio of 544K likes (hey, that's pretty good!) to 2.6 million dislikes (oh wait never mind).

This puts the video ahead of other infamous YouTuber apology videos like Laura Lee's curiously tear-less crying apology video and Logan Paul's somber apology effort.

James' apology has now also broken into the list of the top 20 most disliked YouTube videos in history.

This dubious honour puts him shoulder with other controversial videos like the music video for Justin Bieber's song 'Baby' and the trailer for Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The top (or should that be bottom?) spot for most disliked video on YouTube, however, is still held by the 2018 YouTube Rewind.

James had previously been YouTube's most subscribed beauty creator, with 16.5 million subs, but now that number has plummeted (13.5 million at the time of writing), while Tati's own sub count has climbed right up.
