Tati Westbrook, on the other hand, has now surpassed 6 million subscribers and was congratulated by Jeffree Star.

UPDATE 18:00 GMT: James Charles has now lost over 1 million subscribers in less than 24 hours.

Following Tati Westbrook's recent video exposing James Charles, his subscriber count has plummeted and he's lost a HUGE amount of followers on YouTube.

The ol' dip in subscribers is not an uncommon thing when a huge scandal rocks the YouTube community. It even happened more recently to Olivia Jade who got caught up in her mother's (Lori Loughlin) college admission fraud situation. But her numbers are nothing like the absolute dent that the Tati Westbrook video has put in James Charles' sub count.

So, just how many subscribers has James Charles lost in the last 24 hours?

According to Social Blade, James has lost 900,000+ subscribers - and it's still going down. He's already lost his 16 million subscriber milestone and is set to dip below 15 million before the end of the day. (At the time this article was originally published, his subscriber count was at 15.6 million. As of 10pm GMT, he has lost another 600,000 subs.)

Tati, however, has seen her channel sky rocket following the video. Before the video was uploaded, Tati had just under 6 million subscribers. At time of writing, she's gained over 700,000 and is now at 6.7 million subs. (UPDATE as of 10pm GMT: Tati now has 7.2 million subscribers.)

Twitter is glued to watching the subscriber counts in real time, with several videos going viral. The memes are also out of control...

While people were watching the live subscriber count go down, they noticed a huge spike when 20k subs were randomly added.

There's no confirmed explanation as to what happened but some fans assume it's because he bought subscribers.

In the time it's taken to write this article, James has lost a further 35k subscribers.
