He just can't catch a break right now.

The dust may have finally settled on the James Charles/Tati Westbrook/Jeffree Star feud, but the YouTuber is still having to defend his actions.

James Charles and Tati Westbrook feud explained: A complete guide to the drama

In his 'No More Lies' YouTube video, James Charles announced that he would be taking a much-needed hiatus from social media and his YouTube channel following the whole mess with Tati, to focus on the people closest to him.

"As for my YouTube channel, I've decided I'm going to be taking some much-needed time away from content production," he admitted.

"My last few videos I've definitely noticed quite a few comments talking about my ego or my attitude getting the best of me and getting to my head and I appreciate the constructive criticism and feedback, and after a lot of reflection, I think you're right.

"I've lost focus and that sucks so much, but I want to get back to it so badly and I want to get back to my original goal when I had no motivation other than just creating original content.

"That'll happen for sure and I already have some great ideas in the works, but it's just going to take a little bit of time.

"As for my other social medias, I pledge to myself that I'm going to try and power down as much as I can. I'm sure I'll be checking here and there of course but I do really want to focus more on in-person time and the people around me that are loving and caring.

"That includes all of you guys. Whenever I do come back, I don't know when that is, I cannot wait to show you guys a better version of me."

Well, James' pledge to "power down" lasted about 2.5 seconds. James broke his social media hiatus and headed straight to the launch of Kylie Jenner's skincare launch (May 22) to party with the Kardashians.

Of course, he didn't ~ just ~ go to the launch and show his face, James made full use of the in-house roller rink and shared videos of himself skating around on his Instagram Story. He also uploaded photos with Kylie, Kris Jenner and a video of himself strutting into the event with his BFFs Nikita Dragun and Gabriel Zamora, so it was hardly a low-key affair.

James must have caught some heat for flaunting his life on social media because he was forced to defend his posts on Twitter.

He tweeted: "I said I wouldn’t be filming for a bit and would pop in on my other socials, point being to focus on living rather than forcing content. Healing for me consists of doing things that make me happy, such as playing with makeup & being social, instead of laying in bed all day.

"Social media is a part of my life and I like keeping up with all of you, and I know a lot of you like keeping up with me! Posting a few stories of me smiling doesn't mean "I'm better" or my break was for sympathy. It means I'm trying to move on with my life and better myself."

What do you think? Should James keep off social media for now?
