Thankfully they are safe

Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star were among the many California residents that had to leave their homes due to the awful wildfires that are currently devastating parts of the state.

Jeffree responded to a fan who was worried about whether he had been caught up in the natural disaster, tweeting that he was not allowed to return to his house:

"My home is safe for now but @shanedawson and I are both in an area with mandatory evacuation… They will not let us go back to our homes because the wind is so bad and new fires are spreading. We are unsure what is going to happen next.. "

Over 50 people have died and up to 200 remain missing as California experiences the deadliest wildfire in its history. Many homes have been evacuated and destroyed, including the homes of celebrities Liam Hemsworth and Gerard Butler.

The fires are not showing signs of stopping and are still actively burning in many areas. Over 5,000 fire personnel from across the United States are in the state trying to assist.

Happily, the story has something of a happy ending for Jeffree and Shane

Jeffree updated fans on his situation on Twitter, saying:

"We are officially on the way home and the evacuation has been lifted!!! 🛸 #Calabasas."

Both Jeffree and Shane asked fans to donate money towards the rescue and relief efforts

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this awful disaster.
