Since it was revealed that Joe Sugg will be entering this year's "Strictly Come Dancing," the internet has been divided. While fans of the YouTuber are excited to see him on the show, some of the show's fans aren't quite sure his influencer status qualifies him for a spot. Another issue that has got fans talking, however, is the issue of Joe Sugg's height.

So how tall is Joe Sugg?

Standing at a perfectly respectable 5ft 8 inches (172.7 cm), Joe is just one inch shorter than the national average of 5ft 9 inches (175.26 cm). But that hasn't stopped fans from suggesting that matching him with a dance partner of complementary (a.k.a shorter) stature will be something of a difficult task.

"The main challenge @bbcstrictly will have for @Joe_Sugg is finding a professional short enough for him," one fan tweeted. Another said, "You’re going to have to be paired with a short girl."

Traditionally, male ballroom dancers are taller than their lady counterparts. So with this in mind, who should be Joe Sugg's dance partner on Strictly Come Dancing?

At 5ft, Janette Manrara would be an ideal height match for Joe, while Oti Mabuse and Karen Clifton, who stand at five feet 4 inches and 5 feet 4.5 inches, respectively, would also work well. Katya Jones begins to close the gap at 5 feet 5 inches, While there's very little in it between Joe and Nadiya Bychkova, who is 5 feet and 6.5 inches tall.

So, despite the roasting, really Joe has his pick, height-wise. Either way, it's 2018 and an YouTuber is on "Strictly" - do we really need such traditional ideas about height anymore?

Since the news broke, fans have been speculating who Joe might be paired with, and the show's latest professional performer, Dianne Buswell, has already grabbed fans' attention.

Joe Sugg was officially announced as a Strictly Come Dancing contestant on August 14th, after rumours about his appearance on the show circulated online. In a vlog the 26-year-old admitted he was "terrified" about competing, but that he was ready to "face his fears." In a statement to the BBC, he said:

"I'm honestly so chuffed to be involved in the show this year! Not going to lie, it's totally out of my comfort one and i know it will be a huge challenge but that's what life is all about I guess. Funnily enough I'm writing this statement whilst on the way to surprise my grandparents with the news. They are going to be so happy which will definitely make up for any embarrassment or cringe caused by my questionable rhythm."
