Prepare to learn, a lot.

We all know that YouTube is the place to go if you want a little bit of silliness from your fave Internet stars, but it turns out that the video sharing platform isn't just full of challenge videos and make-up tutorials. We've recently given you the low down on the best YouTube channels to help you pass your exams, but we think we may have found another one to help you learn about the world.

'Kurzgesagt' (the German word for 'in a nutshell') is the educational channel with almost three million subscribers that's answering some of life's biggest questions - all whilst being beautifully animated. From a range of scientific topics such as black holes, atoms and vaccinations to hard hitting subjects such as the refugee crisis, it's sure to cover all bases if you're looking to learn something new.

The channel was first launched in July 2013 and they have posted a video every month ever since. 'Kurzgesagt's' motto is 'quality > quantity' and their bio describes themselves as "a small team of like-minded people who want to make science look beautiful. Because it is beautiful."

Even though their channel name is in German, the actual videos are in English, so if you want to check out their channel then click here. In the meantime check out our list of our favourite 'Kurzgesagt' videos to help you learn a little more about life:
