Markiplier has raise half a million dollars for charity in less than 24 hours.

Mark, who is pictured below on a horse (it was a cool picture and I felt like it was worth sharing again), streamed live on YouTube to try and raise money for homeless youth charity 'My Friend's Place'. MFP describes itself as:

"A nonprofit resource centre in Hollywood offering a comprehensive continuum of care for homeless youth, helping 1,400 young people each year."

Mark, who is no stranger to raising huge sums for charitable causes, tweeted out his thanks to his viewers, saying:

"THE MARATHON CHARITY STREAM IS OVER!! Thank you everyone who stopped by, we ended up raising $500,000 in 24 hours! HUGE thanks to everyone who contributed and was a part of my slow descent into madness!"

In a statement, Mark explained his reasoning behind choosing this particular charity:

“I hate the idea that there are kids out there that don’t have opportunities. “Growing up, I had a roof over my head, I had a dad that fed us — I want everyone to have a chance at that. It’s about giving people a chance.”

Mark was helped out on the stream by fellow creator JackSepticEye, who took over during the 24 hour stream, in order to give Mark a much needed nap.

The charity itself was extremely grateful, tweeting:

"Thank you @markiplier!!! Simply amazing!"

Mark says he plans to do more charity livestreams like this throughout 2019. What a nice guy!
