Colleen Ballinger has responded to criticism she' faced over not hugging fans during recent meet'n'greets.

Colleen, who is currently on tour, has been dealing with backlash over her decision to not hug fans who meet her, with some fans complaining that they'd paid money for the opportunity to get a hug from their fave.

While not receiving a hug from their fave may be disappointing for fans, Colleen has a very good reason for keeping physical contact to a minimum, which she explained in a recent vlog.

Revealing that she had been sick after a meet'n'greet, Colleen explained that when you're pregnant, "it can be really really scary if you actually get a sickness," and was ordered by her doctor to not hug her fans.

"I love you guys, I want to hug you. If you've ever been in my meet and greet before you know that I give all of you a huge bear hug... I am doing this for the safety of my baby."

Revealing that her brother is hard of hearing because their mother got sick while carrying him, Colleen got emotional as she explained, "I'm not doing this to be mean to you, I'm not doing it to be unfair to you."

"This tour alone I'm meeting 5,000 people," she continued. "One of those 5,000 people is carrying some sort of germ that could hurt me and my baby."

"To see a bunch of you super disappointed in me when I'm just trying to protect my kid... it really hurts my feelings."
