Nikita was apparently running a giveaway in return for likes for a contestant she was mentoring in the competition.

Another day, another YouTube beauty drama and this time it’s all about eyebrows. Nikita Dragun is being criticised for allegedly trying to bribe fans in order to win a competition.

It all started when she announced she would be mentoring a contestant in Benefit Cosmetics’ annual Brow Search competition which is, as I’m sure you can guess from the name, all about who has the best eyebrows.

After the contestants are picked to take part, they’re assigned a mentor who is a successful person in the beauty community, which this year included Nikita, Patrick Starrr, Desi Perkins, and Ale La Chula, and then compete to see who has the best brows of them all. The winner of the contest receives a contract with Benefit Cosmetics as well as a $50,000 cash prize.

Each contestant created their best eyebrow look and was assigned a number, and a winner was picked in a pretty easy way - whichever contestant’s number was commented the most on Instagram won the prize. Nikita was working with contestant number 2, Kameron Lester, a YouTuber from LA - who ended up winning.

But Nikita has come under fire for allegedly bribing her fans with free products in order to get them to vote for Kameron.

According to an Instagram Story posted by Nikita, which has since been deleted, she was urging fans to comment ‘2’ on the Benefit Cosmetics post in return to being entered into a prize draw.

Some fans were predictably annoyed about the situation…

In a statement to Buzzfeed however, Benefit Cosmetics however denied the claims, saying: “Nikita’s Instagram story went up 10 minutes after voting had closed and we had internally confirmed Kameron as the winner. He won fair and square!”

But what do you think? Was Nikita trying to ban fans to get more votes?
