People are telling PewDiePie to eat a child and nothing makes sense anymore.

We've had some insane memes this year: Flashback Mary, Shane Dawson's reactions to every tiny thing that happens ever, Alfie Deyes claiming he isn't a Tory, dancing Hermione, and even the meme about new laws trying to take away memes. We've had a great year meme-wise, and it looks like we've just bagged ourselves another one.

It appears as though the internet is telling the popular gaming YouTuber PewDiePie to eat a child. Yes. You read that right. As most memes go, this one doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, even with context, but MAN these are hilarious.

So, what does 'eat the child' mean? Where did it come from?

It all started when YouTuber, FaZe Lampshade, said that he would eat a photo of PewDiePie every single day, until PewDiePie ate a photo of him. This gained traction on Reddit, where many popular memes are born, and then on day 46, FaZe Lampshade finally got PewDiePie's attention, but not for the reason he wanted. PewDiePie just told him to stop eating photos of his face - a reasonable request.

This is when the internet went absolutely batsh*t freaking insane, and everyone kept telling PewDiePie to EAT THE CHILD. This pretty much took over his YouTube comments, Twitter replies, and even his sub-reddit. Everything was full of this ridiculous dank meme. PewDiePie FINALLY agreed, and said he would eat the photo of FaZe Lampshade when he reached day 100. This happened on October 1st so we can probably expect this kid to get eaten soon, we just don't know when. Presumably, fans want him to eat a photo of the child, and are not just promoting cannibalism. But either way, everyone wants him to 'eat the child', so a meme has been born.

If you're interested in what FaZe Lampshade is doing now that he's eaten 100 photos of PewDiePie, he's started posing for 11 minutes a day, which he will continue to do all month.

So, what do you think about all of this? Do you think PewDiePie should actually eat a photo of this kid? Let us know!
