"I just wanted to address the whole ‘he’s gonna quit thing’."

PewDiePie has addressed rumours that he’s quitting YouTube in a new video.

The YouTuber has been going through some life and career changes lately and it’s prompted some to speculate that he’ll be quitting - or at least taking a hiatus from - making videos for his channel.

After getting engaged to longtime girlfriend Marzia Bisognin and having his video editor of five years, Brad, stop working for him, some wondered if PewDiePie’s habit of uploading near daily videos would be coming to an end.

In a new video called ‘Addressing the rumours’, PewDiePie explains that he has no plans to stop making videos - at least not in the near future.

“It’s also been a lot of work and also to edit my own videos… just know I’m trying my best with the time that I have each day. For anyone that’s a YouTuber, you know it’s a grind and for a lot of other businesses, whenever you start something and you reach a level of success, you can like slow down a bit and let other people take on the work. To still have me here doing all that, it’s kind of crazy if you think about it, but at the same time, this is what I enjoy doing, this is what I want to do, so I’m actually really happy about it.”

“I’m getting married, brad’s left, hitting 100 million subscribers, an insane number, it’s the dumbest number I’ve ever heard... There’s a lot of speculation that I’m going to quit the channel because of all these pieces kind of falling together....”

“I still really enjoy YouTube and I have no plans of quitting. I do think it would be good for me to take a break at some point just to feel what it’s like to have a break. Like I don’t take breaks. I just keep going because I’m in the routine of making videos and it would be nice to not have YouTube in my brain for the first time in ten years.”

“I’ll probably do that at sometime in the future at least, but I just wanted to address the whole ‘he’s gonna quit thing’. Other than that, I just wanna say, I’m really happy. You guys seem happy as well and that feels good. The bottom line is that I just really enjoy making uplifting content and it feels good to do that.”

He also shared how grateful he is that after an entire decade as a YouTuber, he’s still at the top of his game.

“YouTube is always changing so quickly, it’s pretty crazy. So whenever my channel gets a second wind like this for the hundredth time at this point it feels like, I’m always so grateful. It feels amazing and honestly I can’t believe [it]… This year is my tenth year as a YouTuber uploading every single day and to still be on top of what I do is unbelievable, especially looking back at other YouTubers at the time when the longevity of YouTube was so short,” he explained.
