He did it, he really did it

PewDiePie has released his own version of the YouTube Rewind and it has accumulated a staggering 10 million views in less than 24 hours.

The video was created by meme kings FlyingKitty, Grandayy and Dolan Dark (you can read our interview with Grandayy from this year right here) and is chock full of references both broad and niche from the internet in 2018. Music is provided by Party In Backyard, who produced Felix's T-Series themed song 'Bitch Lasagna'.

You'll see everything from Thanos to Logan Paul's highly controversial trip to Japan, all delivered with a generous dose of PewDiePie's trademark anarchic editing style. The video also directly parodies YouTube's 2018 effort, right down to the theme.

The theme of the official Rewind was 'you control the Rewind' and featured creators seemingly choosing how the video should go. Similarly, this video is also about Felix himself making the choices.

It also opens with Felix directly parodying Will Smith's appearance in the Rewind, complete with his weird extended opening "yooOOOoOoH".

The YouTube Rewind is an annual video compilation, created by YouTube itself, which recounts the year that was on the site. It was originally extremely popular and seen as one of the highlights of the year for users, but in recent years, as with much of the world (yay!) the Rewind has rapidly become a focal point for hatred, with this year's Rewind swiftly becoming the most disliked YouTube video of all time.

Fans and creators have been pretty effusive (good word, eh?) in their praise for the video

So far, the efforts of Felix and co have paid off, with the video sitting on millions of views, attracting an astoundingly positive like-to-dislike ratio and... well, not being the most disliked video of all time, which was the ridiculously low bar it had to cross.
