Tana Mongeau and Andrew Siwicki have defended Shane Dawson over the claims.

The internet practically exploded yesterday (March 18) when an unearthed podcast of Shane Dawson joking that he had sexually abused his cat went viral.

The Reddit Video Of Shane Dawson "Justifying Pedophilia" DOES Miss Important Context

The clip – which was from the Shane and Friends podcast in 2015 – heard the YouTuber say: "One time I laid my cat down on her back and I moved her little chicken legs spread open... and I was like if I just hump on her tummy that's not weird."

"And then I humped and I humped and I humped and I kept going and I kept going and I came all over the cat. It was like my first sexual experience and I was 19."

People were baffled by the story and it quickly gained attention on social media. Shane was accused of beastiality and #ShaneDawsonIsOverParty started trending on Twitter.

Shane eventually tweeted a lengthy apology, insisting he wasn't proud of the joke and it was made years ago when shock humour was his schtick.

After acknowledging his past mistakes, Shane received an outpouring of support from the YouTube community.

There hasn't been a statement from Shane's BFF Jeffree Star just yet but he did show his support by liking Andrew Siwicki's tweet.
