Shane Dawson has come under fire for comments about his cat in his podcast...

Shane Dawson has apologised for joking that he sexually abused his cat on his podcast Shane and Friends in 2015.

"I am not a f*cking pedophile" - Shane Dawson posts video response to viral rumours

In the early hours of this morning (Mar 18), a tweet went viral in which someone tweeted: "can we just stop supporting shane dawson? to me black face pedophila or BEASTIALITY is never a joke." They posted the tweet alongside a snippet from one of Shane's podcasts in 2015 in which he claims to have sexually abused his cat at the age of 19.

In the podcast, Shane says: "One time I laid my cat down on her back and I moved her little chicken legs spread open... and I was like if I just hump on her tummy that's not weird. And then I humped and I humped and I humped and I kept going and I kept going and I came all over the cat. I was like my first sexual experience and I was 19."

Almost immediately the clip started gaining attention on social media and people were quick to call out Shane for his actions and accuse him of beastiality. Now Shane has responded to the backlash. Taking to Twitter, he said: "i didnt fuck my cat. i didnt cum on my cat. i didnt put my dick anywhere near my cat."

Shane then went on to explain that it was an elaborate joke.

In the wake of Shane's recent apology, close friend YouTuber Garrett Watts has taken to Twitter to publicly defend him. He wrote: "As someone who knows Shane intimately, I can tell you that the shock-style comedy of Shane's past is the least interesting & least genuine side of him, and to see what he's grown into, from what he used to be, is truly incredible."

Andrew Siwicki also tweeted in support of Shane, writing that Shane is "the most sincere, caring, accepting, down-to-earth person" he's ever met. Jeffree Star and Tana Mongeau have both liked Andrews' tweets.

Shane has since retweeted Garrett's comments with a heart emoji.

Shane's apology comes just over a year after he was accused of paedophilia for controversial jokes in the same podcast. He later apologised for his jokes and stated that he is not a paedophile in an extensive YouTube video.
