Eugenia Cooney has returned to YouTube and appears in Shane Dawson's latest documentary, "The Return of Eugenia Cooney". Eugenia also posted a video to her main channel where she talks about taking a break from social media and her recovery.

Popular YouTuber Eugenia Cooney has returned to YouTube as the subject of Shane Dawson's latest documentary entitled "The Return of Eugenia Cooney". Eugenia announced a hiatus back in February 2019, saying that she was "taking a break from social media" and working "with my doctor privately".

Eugenia has faced scrutiny for years regarding her thin appearance. Fans and other creators in the YouTube community urged her to seek medical help, which we see examples of in Shane's documentary. Eugenia was even the subject of a 2016 episode of The Doctors.

In the hour long doc, Shane Dawson visits Eugenia following her release from a rehabilitation centre where she underwent treatment for an unspecified eating disorder.

Shane consulted a mental health professional before speaking with Eugenia.

"I have a lot of questions about how to do this right and to also not trigger people watching."

Before speaking to Eugenia, Shane reached out to Kati Morton, a licensed therapist and fellow YouTube creator, who helped Shane figure out the best way to pose his questions.

Kati talked to Shane about which questions he should avoid and the type of language that could be damaging or unhelpful in their conversation.

"Don't comment on how she looks," Kati specifically advises Shane the day before he goes to visit Eugenia.

When Shane and Eugenia do meet, she gives him a tour of her house. Eventually, they sit down to discuss the details of her treatment programme, as well as other topics.

Eugenia also posted a video to her own channel.

In a video titled "I'm Back", Eugenia says that the details of her rehab stay are "kinda private still and kind of hard to talk about" but assures fans that she is "doing a lot better."

She also shared that she is "excited" to make videos and start streaming on Twitch again.
