Shane's new series with the controversial beauty YouTuber has raised a few eyebrows.

The first video in Shane Dawson's five-part docuseries with Jeffree Star has already clocked up millions of views, and climbed straight to the top of America's Trending page, but some fans aren't to keen on the collaboration between the veteran YouTuber and controversial beauty juggernaut.

Much of the discomfort some fans are feeling about Jeffree and Shane's collaboration comes from the fact that Jeffree ha been accused of racism a number of times throughout his career, including calling for battery acid to be thrown on a black woman to lighten her face. This is an issue that Jeffree himself has confronted and apologised for - in June 2017, he posted a video saying, "The person that said those horrible, vile things - that person was depressed, that person was just angry at the world, that person felt like they were not accepted, that person was seeking attention."

Because of this, some fans feel as though Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson's collaboration shouldn't happen

"Drives me nuts when Shane Dawson hangs out with Jeffree Star because it's so obvious that Jeffree is a racist," one fan tweeted. Another wrote, "I seriously cannot stand Jeffree Star's racist ass AT ALL," and asked Shane to "reevaluate everything."

Others have called on Shane to use the opportunity to discuss Jeffree's controversial comments. "I wonder if Shane's going to bring up Jeffree's racist scandals in this series," one fan Tweeted.

Shane has also been called out for racism in the past, after performing in a number of videos in black face - Shane apologised for this in 2014.
