Apparently, the couple's wedding wasn't legally binding.

After weeks of build-up and questioning over whether they would actually go through with it or not, Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau seemed to get married in an emotional, dramatic and slightly chaotic ceremony on Sunday (28th June) in Las Vegas.

But even though they went through with the ceremony, some critics are still calling out the wedding for being a sham. Tana called out the people that are doubting her relationship to Jake in a tweet in the run-up to the ceremony, writing: “I don’t care if u think my wedding’s real. I don’t care if u think my marriage is real. i don’t care if u think Jake and I don’t love each other. I don’t care if u think getting married fast is a bad idea. I don’t care if you think it’s gonna last. OOPS!”

She may not care what people are saying about the marriage, but there’s reportedly evidence that, even though they went through with the ceremony, the couple aren’t actually legally married.

According to a tweet posted by Twitter user @ITS_HEATHERCHAN, the ceremony wasn’t legally binding as the couple did not obtain a marriage license, according to the local government database.

According to public records, Team 10’s Armani - real name Arman Izadi - also apparently hasn’t been granted a license to officiate a wedding in the state of Nevada.

A screenshot posted reads: “You must obtain a marriage license from Clark County Marriage License Bureau prior to the ceremony. Fun Fact: Clark County Marriage Licenses are updated online in real-time through the county’s website.”

A series of screenshots posted seem to show that neither Tana, Jake or Armani’s name comes up in any search of marriage licenses, meaning that the wedding wasn’t legally binding.

Further suspicion that something wasn’t quite right about the couple’s wedding was raised after it was reported that the couple both left their reception early and in separate groups of people. But Tana addressed the claims on Twitter, saying that she’d had to leave to deal with a family emergency while Jake was headed to Europe.

“Last night was an unconventional crazy girl’s dream wedding. I love jake so fucking much and there’s no one else on earth i could’ve done that with. truly slow dancing while they’re screaming,” she wrote. “we’re both still recovering hard - Jake’s headed to Europe and I have to deal with a family emergency…”

“I’m gonna meet him there the second i can. so excited to decompress from the past few months of chaos & celebrate US with no one around.. thank u guys for all the ridiculous amounts of love & support. we fucking love u. pictures and stuff soon but right now my number one focus is dealing with this family emergency…”

“Sometimes God gives us hardships at really bad timing which sucks because i truly don’t want this to take away from all of the love i was surrounded by last night & in this life... trying to be strong to be the best example i can be for all of you. Thank you for everything u guys. u are truly my family”.
