Fennec Foxes eat rodents, eggs, reptiles, and insects in the wild.

A YouTuber is receiving backlash online after boasting about feeding her pet Fennec Fox a vegan diet.

According to a post on her Facebook page, YouTuber Sonia Sae claims that "modern science permits carnivore animals to receive all their needed amino acids from a victimless source." Meanwhile, science claims that in captivity a "Fennec should be eating several dozen mealworms, crickets, silkworms or other insects a day, along with eggs, as they rob nests in the wild. Any type of bug or insect is great. You can also feed mice or pinky mice. Others choose to feed raw meat. If you choose to go with a commercial food, please make sure that it is one high in taurine and meat products."

In a post on her public Facebook Page, Sonia claimed that her Fox, who is named Jumanji, lives of a "complete plant based diet" and insisted that her pet receives "all the amino acids for a carnivore such as taurine [and] lysine."

"[Jumanji] is in good shape, his blood tesrts are fine, he's healthy, playful and hasn't show and signs of malnutrition for around three years," Sonia claims in the Facebook post.
