We the Unicorns

And the winner is...

Just this week, YouTube comedian Rachel Bloom won a bloody Golden Globe, mate. It was a fantastic achievement, particularly for someone who started their comedy career online. To celebrate this milestone, we have put together a collection of some of best times when YouTubers took home awards:

1. Let's Talk About Rachel's Incredible Achievement

Rachel Bloom is a comedian with just ('just') 55,000 subscribers, who recently won a Golden Globe for her role in 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend', a show she also created.

This is the first time an internet star has managed to break into the upper reaches of the award world. We are super excited for what this means for the future - could we see Troye Sivan getting a Grammy, or perhaps Markiplier getting a Tony for his amazing pipes:

2. Connor Franta Won A People's Choice Award

At the start of this year Connor Franta won a People's Choice award, an award that is, shockingly, chosen by the people. He was so surprised that he did swearing:

But, classy as always, didn't forget to share the love!:

3. Unsurprisingly, They're Taking Home All The YouTube Awards

In a move that no one saw coming - apart, perhaps from that enigmatic old crone that lives in the forest near your house and watches you while you sleep, softly whispering to herself: "Soon. Soon this child will realise what they are capable of. Soon they will know what incredible and terrible powers they possess." But apart from her, a being lost in time, no one saw it coming that YouTubers would win YouTuber awards. JK of course we did - but that still didn't stop it being awesome!

The Teen Choice Awards have recently begun heavily featuring (and rewarding!) YouTube stars, a move that recognises just how popular our online faves are and how much their work deserves to be recognised.

4. Even When They Just Get Nominated, They Do It In Style

In fact they don't just do it in style, they do it in In Style.  In 2015, a bunch of our faves were nominated for In Style Awards and as a result were photographed by photographer to the stars Rankin. We have all the pics right here in our piece about In Style.

5. And Then There Are The Best Awards - Our Awards

Three guesses as to who took home the gold here.
