Zoella's Advent calendar is officially cursed.

Zoella's infamous Advent calendar has gone from from ill-conceived to downright dangerous after a schoolgirl found a knife (yes, a knife) behind one of doors. And not, like, a butter knife. No, no. We're talking a genuinely dangerous Stanley knife.

According to the Daily Mirror, 12-year-old Evie was stunned to find the offensive weapon in amongst the confetti and stationary that she was expecting to find in the calendar, which had already been discounted by 50% after customers called the original £50 price tag exploitative.

According to Evie's sister Nicola, "Evie opened the casing just to have a look at what gifts were in it and said 'mum, there's a knife'. My mum was like 'what do you mean there's a knife?'"

The knife, which was allegedly "wrapped up in cellophane around the handle" with the blade "uncovered" was said to look "like it was made in prison," according to friends of the family who commented on the surprise gift.

Boots, the retailer who stock Zoella's Advent calendar, said: "The quality and safety of our products is of the utmost importance to us and we are very concerned to hear about this.

"We have been speaking to the customer directly and have requested that they return the product and its packaging to our Customer Care team as soon as possible. Once we have received the product our Product Quality Team will investigate the matter further with our supplier."

Zoella has not yet commented on the issue.
